Spring skiing in the Babine Mountains

The Babines in the Spring are a wild place to be at. The range becomes empty of snowmobilers and snow on the ground mostly discourages hikers to visit. But, ski mountaineers thrive at this time of the year! The long days and stable snowpack allow for prolonged walks to ski further and bolder ski lines. For us, we also had to negotiate with very variable weather as heavy rain, snow, hail, strong winds, calmness and sun would rage all in a span of half an hour.
