Surfing the Butze Rapids.
As if managing white water was not difficult enough by itself, kayak surfers at Butze rapids need to time their prowess with incoming tides. They have deep knowledge about the water level changing by the minute that they exactly know which wave is best to ride at any given time. The result is a coordinated act jumping from channel to channel in between small islands while nailing impressive freestyle tricks. Maybe the best part about Butze is that it is located a mere 15 minutes outside of Prince Rupert, BC!
