A day like no other
Probably the most important day of the year at Shames mountain is the day that closes the entire season. Everybody knows it. You ski on Saturday, you camp in the parking lot at night, you party (hard) with the local community and you dress up on Sunday!
How you should dress up is totally up to you! This year, my friends and I chose the theme of Intergalactic Skiers (and riders) and some went over the top! I love it.
At the end of the day, Shames mountain organizes the infamous Slush cup, where contestants fearlessly attempt to glide across a pool of literally freezing water. Points are attributed to the best costume, best trick and best crash! This year was the first time this event happened in 3 years, it was long awaited.
All in all, this day truly is a moment for the local users of the mountain to come together around a sport and a place that is very close to them. It really feels like a big chosen family having a party that represents them. I love you all and I hope these photos serve justice to the joy of this unique event.
